Embrace fall with easy cleaning tips for a sparkling home. Welcome the season with a fresh and tidy living space.

Fall is officially here! Although it is extremely hot outside in San Diego right now, we are stuck inside due to the extreme heat! As we are starting to spending more time at home, this is a great opportunity to give your space a little seasonal reset.
The good news? You don’t need a huge home-improvement project to make a difference. A handful of small tasks - tackling one a weekend - can help your home feel cleaner, cozier, and more prepared for the months ahead.
The kitchen tends to get busier during fall with Holiday cooking, so start there. Degrease the stovetop, including removing your burner plates and nobs and give them a good soaking. Clear out and reorganize your junk drawer(s).
Fall is a good reminder to tackle a few things that don't make the usual cleaning list. Vacuum refrigerator coils if they're accessible, clean your range hood filter, wipe down ceiling fans, and check behind larger appliances for dust and debris.
You don't have to do everything at once! Pick one overlooked area each weekend.
Before heaters, fireplaces, and candles start getting more use, test your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Replace batteries when needed and check the expiration or replacement date printed on the alarms.
It only takes a few minutes and is an important seasonal habit.
Walk around the exterior of your home and look for simple maintenance issues. Clear leaves and debris away from drains, check gutters for buildup, put away summer items you won't be using, and look for damaged weatherstripping or exterior caulk.
Catching little problems early can prevent them from becoming bigger ones later.
Wash and store lightweight summer linens, pull out your extra blankets, and give frequently used throws and pillow covers a wash. It's also a great time to donate anything you didn't use this past season instead of storing it for another year.
Once everything feels fresh, add a few simple fall touches. A seasonal candle, cozy throw, bowl of apples, or a few pumpkins can completely change the mood without requiring a major decorating project.
A little maintenance, a little cleaning, and a little cozy can go a long way.
Happy fall, homeowners! 🍁🏡✨
